Giedre, the primary Tableau user at a European telecommunications company, often acts as a bridge between the IT and marketing areas. She enjoys gathering data, analyzing it in Tableau, and putting together presentations to communicate the findings. With the help of Tableau, Giedre was able to take data analysis and reporting projects to a new level. Prior to joining BITE, she worked in the banking and life insurance industries. Giedre holds a BS in Computer Science from Vilnius University, and is currently finishing her MS in Computer Science at the Distance University of Hagen. A native of Lithuania, she grew up in the Czech Republic and Germany.

Ty Alevizos is a Senior Sales Consultant for Tableau Software. Ty joined Tableau in April of 2008 and brought with him 15 years experience in software sales, design, and release management. Prior to coming to Tableau, Ty held several positions at I-many Inc., WindRiver Systems and Netopia Inc. Ty graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in music composition.

Andrew Beers is the Senior Director of Engineering for Tableau Software and is currently responsible for the development of Tableau’s product line. Andrew joined Tableau in October 2004 and brought with him seven years of hands-on and leadership experience in software engineering. He applied this experience at Tableau initially by developing major components of the Tableau Desktop product, then leading the creation and delivery of the Tableau Server product. Prior to coming to Tableau, he held leadership positions in the engineering groups at Align Technology, a medical device company in Silicon Valley, CA. He holds an MS in Computer Science from Stanford University. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking and photography.

Ross Bunker is a Senior Software Engineer for Tableau Software. Ross has been building software for 15 years. At Tableau since 2005, Ross has contributed multiple features including the calculation engine, hyperlinks and Tableau Server’s server and web client components. Prior to Tableau, Ross spent 6 years at Microsoft leading the development of the query execution engine for SQL Server 7.0 and SQL Server 2000 before moving on to roles at Westside.com and BEA Systems. Ross graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a B.S.E. in Computer Science.

Martin Click has had a varied career working in the government, retail, and transportation sectors. A Texas native, Martin acquired an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and an officer’s commission in the United States Air Force from Texas A&M University. After serving in the United States and the Far East as Engineering and Logistics Officer, Martin left the military service for the commercial world. Finding delight in marrying people and systems together Martin worked in production, engineering, warehousing, and distribution for Texas Instruments and Pepsi-Cola while partnering in a small business.

Martin has been with UPS for the last 23 years performing a variety of engineering, operations, planning, and business development roles. During that time he acquired an MBA in International Management. From 2000-2010 he has worked with UPS Supply Chain Solutions, a UPS subsidiary. Here he developed transportation products, consulted with Fortune 500 companies, implemented customer logistics networks, created product strategy, and led engineering teams to combine and optimize the transportation networks of acquired companies. In 2007 Martin assumed a new position with UPS Corporate as the Executive Director for Global Network Development and Support.

Andy Cotgreave is a Senior Data Analyst at the University of Oxford. He manages the student reporting team and has been using Tableau since v3.1. Since his team acquired a single license in October 2007, Oxford’s use of Tableau has grown, and they now have a core Server license used across the university. Andy also organized the first ever Tableau user group meeting, in the UK in July 2009. Chris Cushman, a graduate of the Georgia Institute of technology’s renowned Industrial and Systems Engineering department, has been with the United Parcel Service (UPS) for over 5 years. A long time resident of Georgia, Chris came to UPS as a management training candidate and quickly worked his way through the ranks of the Enterprise Transportation Planning Department. Chris manages various corporate planning and cost reduction projects with a specialty in network optimization and integration relying heavily on data analysis and visualization. Chris spearheaded the Tableau movement within UPS and continues to work towards its growth, application, and knowledge base. Chris is a concept pioneer and founding member of the Atlanta Tableau Users Group.

Austin Dahl is a Senior Software Engineer for Tableau Software and leader of the Special Projects development team. This team customizes Tableau software for customers and other 3rd parties, including Oracle/Hyperion. Austin joined Tableau in the 2006 with over 15 years of industry experience, spanning diverse application areas such as audio-video search, in-silico biological modeling and analysis and interactive 3D graphics for design and manufacturing. Meredith joined Tableau in 2010 and has 15 years of experience in the Business Intelligence and Performance Management arena including such diverse areas as GIS and Financial Consolidation. He has always had a keen interest in usability and in previous product management roles has constantly strived to build products that work the way the users do. Erin joined Tableau in October 2005 after graduating from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication. At Tableau, Erin writes the online and offline product manuals, manages the support forums, and creates a variety of other product guides. Mr. Glick joined ParAccel as the VP Technology & Architecture to ensure that ParAccel solutions meet the needs of customers and partners. Mr. Glick brings tremendous industry experience with him to ParAccel. Most recently he served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Teradata’s Database Engineering group, where he was responsible for product direction and vision of the Teradata Database.

In that position, Mr. Glick focused on feature enhancements for data loading, manageability, extensibility and performance initiatives. His Teradata career spans back to 1991 when he was one of their first professional services employees hired to work on high profile retail customers. He also served as a senior consultant in Chicago where he helped major retailers and telecommunications and insurance providers to develop breakthrough data warehouse systems and practices based on highly differentiated analytics. Mr. Glick helped to introduce Teradata technology into new geographic regions including South America and Asia-Pacific. Mr. Glick also served as Director of Teradata’s Active Data Warehouse Center of Expertise and Partner Engineering. Mr. Glick received his BS in Computer Science from Iowa State University.

Dave Gorman has been with UPS for the past 32 year having various roles and positions. For the last five years, Dave has been in Network Planning developing new transportation strategies including system-wide time in transit improvements for the Small Package network in 2006 and 2008. Dave manages enterprise system planning and cost reduction projects using data mining, analysis, and visualization techniques. Dave only starting using Tableau last year but has become a power user and strong supporter of its visualization features within UPS.

Jeffrey Heer is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University, where he works on human-computer interaction, visualization, and social computing. His research investigates the perceptual, cognitive, and social factors involved in making sense of large data collections, resulting in new interactive systems for visual analysis and communication.

Heer's work has produced novel visualization techniques for exploring data, software tools that simplify visualization creation and customization, and collaborative analysis systems that leverage the insights of multiple analysts. He has also led the design of the Prefuse, Flare, and Protovis open-source visualization toolkits, which have been downloaded over 100,000 times; cited in over 500 research publications; and used by researchers, corporations, and thousands of data enthusiasts.

Heer received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Over the years, he has also worked at a number of research laboratories and corporations, including Xerox PARC, IBM Research, Microsoft Research, and Tableau Software. Heer is the recipient of the 2009 ACM CHI Best Paper Award, Faculty Awards from IBM and Intel, UC Berkeley's C.V. Ramamoorthy Distinguished Research Award, and in 2009 was named to MIT Technology Review's TR35, a list recognizing 35 innovators under the age of 35.

Dave Holmes-Kinsella is a Director in the Offer Management group at FiberTower Corporation, which is the market leader in alternative backhaul networks for telecommunications operators in the United States. Dave was one of the first employees at FiberTower, responsible for introducing complex analytics and systems to the organization, helping the company make better business decisions with immense data sets. He has an extensive international background in designing, implementing and troubleshooting DSS, OLTP and mixed mode RDBMS systems for a variety of platforms and industries. A published author and popular speaker, his focus these days is very much on multi-dimensional and temporal information visualization. When he's not thinking about decision making in the face of asymmetric information and evolving organizational models, he rides his bike, plays with his dog, and cooks.

Chuck Hooper is a Senior Professional Services Consultant at Tableau, responsible for helping customer build and deploy business intelligence applications, to drive actionable insights. In 2005, in his private BI and data warehouse consulting practice, he became Tableau’s first consulting partner. Richard Leeke is a co-founder and Performance Engineering Practice Director at Equinox Ltd., a New Zealand software development and IT consulting company. Jock Mackinlay is Tableau Software's Director of Visual Analysis. At Stanford University he pioneered the automatic design of graphical presentations of relational information. He joined Xerox PARC in 1986, where he collaborated with the User Interface Research Group to develop many novel applications of computer graphics for information access, coining the term "Information Visualization." Much of the fruits of this research can be seen in his book, "Readings in Information Visualization: Using Vision to Think." Jock has a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University.

Roger has been involved in all aspects of data warehousing including the planning, design, implementation, and support of some of the most successful systems ever built. Discovering Tableau in 2007 while he was CIO of Blastrac Global – Dan became a raving fan after successfully deploying a global BI solution utilizing Tableau. These early successes lead to a webinar, a white paper and his speaking at the first two Tableau User Conferences.

As a project manager, he led the creation of a business intelligence product line and expanded the data collection environment to systematically analyze tens of millions of transactional automotive records on a real-time basis. An avid outdoorsman, Jon reconnects and reinvigorates through annual backpacking treks to the high Sierra, where he spends a week at altitudes above 10,000 feet. Jon holds a MA in Geography from San Diego State, and a professional certificate in data mining from UCSD extension. He is a PMI certified Project Manager Professional.

Lynzi is passionate about figuring out how to make data and software part of the solution instead of the cause of the problem. She serves as Co-Program Manager and Technical Lead for a grant-funded program whose goal is to make it dramatically easier for Aspire teammates to use data and software to drive student achievement. Tableau and Tableau Server make it dramatically easier for her to do so! Lynzi earned her BS from Stanford University in Symbolic Systems, with a concentration in Human-Computer Interaction, and her MS in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
